Tim Turvey has delved into his glittering past to find a recipe for an old school chardonnay. If you find something bigger please let us know! In the glass the wine is bright yellow with gold tints and coats the glass like fine olive oil whilst your nostrils are attacked with smoky oak, buttered popcorn, ripe peach and an undercurrent of lemon. Now on the palate the wine fills every corner with ripe fruit, lashings of smoky oak that keeps coming the mid palate is defined by butterscotch and a bold, oily texture leading to a soft citrus and oak finish. Enjoy this now with mild pulled pork with fresh slaw, crayfish or cheese, or if you can restrain yourself cellar it for 6 to 12 months or more to allow the the flavours to mellow and the creaminess to come to the fore.
